Hey everyone! I'm going to San Jose del Cabo on April 21-28 for the first time on a surf trip. Staying at the El Presidente. I'm a middle aged single guy who used to surf alot and going to get back into it now. Anyone going to be there at that time? Also interested in playing some golf and having some fun (cer vezas, margaritas, Cabo Wabo, Squid Row)! Any suggestions on what to do, where to surf, etc?

Hey Joe,
Sounds like a great trip! I have been as far south as Scorpion Bay a couple times, but never made it all the way to Cabo. Check out the link below to Surfline though. They have a lot of great information about surfing in the Cabo San Lucas area and links to some great resources too.

Hope you get some great waves!

My wife and I were in Cabo not too long ago and found a very authentic place to eat that was recommended by some people we met there who go 3 times a year and have been going for 18 years. The name of the resturaunt is "Mi Casa". It's a little further in town, but close to Cabo Wabo. The food is great. It is a sit down resturaunt. I don't personally know of too many surf spots, but if you are by the harbor there is a bar and grill owned by a guy named Jesus. He is married to a Texan girl that he met when she was down there on spring break one year. Anyway Jesus also owns one of the local booze cruises. I'm sure he can tell you some good spots to surf.

I appreciate the reply Eagle Man. As a matter of fact, I'm from Texas too (Houston). Be nice to meet someone there with a drawl! I will actually be staying in San Jose del Cabo but will have a car and plan to do some exploring while I'm there and go to Cabo alot. San Jose is closer to the surf spots I had in mind (Old Man's, Shipwrecks) but I'm sure I'll get around the horn. Mi Casa sounds great. Is it traditional Mexican food or all kinds? I'll definitely check it out. I've read from reviews that the food at El Presidente is mediocre at best so I may want to get out and find some better grub! Sure that shouldn't be too hard. So do you guys surf or just go down to vacation? There seems to be so much to do there. I may fish, play golf, snorkel, whatever (at least while the money holds out!) Sounds good to an old surfdog like me! Anyway, thanks for the post and hope to hear from you again.
