Hello jamesd1967,
Where in Baja are you going to be? The hotel accommodations vary quite a bit from the border down to Cabo.

Hola!
Try to narrow down your area of interest if possible...it will make it easier on anyone with recommendations. Also think about how much luxury you are expecting, and what kind of services.
There are many all-inclusive resorts resorts in the Cabo San Lucas area, and a travel agent may be a good place to start and then ask for opinions about their recomendations.
I am familiar with Baja Norte...Rosarito...Ensenada...etc. This area is great if you want to drive your own vehicle and not be part of a managed experience like many all-inclusive resorts will offer in Cabo. There are several resorts and hotels...but it kind of depends on what you want to do.
If it is your intention to have a base of operations, from which you want to drive around and enjoy the wine country in Valle de Guadalupe near Ensenada...Shopping in Ensenada or Rosarito Beach...Lobster in Puerto Nuevo, then you may also want to consider renting a fully equipped condominium in one of our nicer condo/resort communities.
For instance, my condo/resort (I live there...it is not "mine"!) has four swimming pools, three tennis courts, access to the beach, security 24/7, and walking distance to shopping and numerous restaurants and spas. And when you focus your ideas a little, you will find many other folks with recommendations here and on other sites.
ALSO: If you are interested in less luxury and more adventure...NOW is the time to consider traveling farther south for some whale watching in the warm lagoons near San Ignacio and Guerrero Negro. No big resorts or spas...or much of anything other than the whales! But it is a fantastic experience that you will rave about to your friends when you get back.

I could also use some information about where to stay? Can anyone give some more details about this? Price really isn't a problem for this trip we are planning. We have decided to go all out this time. So if anyone can tell me about the best of the best I would appreciate it.

Note to everyone:
It really helps if you tighten the noose a little with your requests. How many people are going? Are you flying or driving? Children? What kinds of interests? What time of year? How long will this trip be? What part of Baja?
We want to help, but help us out too!

Ken is right on. The variety of hotels ranges from the very simple and basic to the very upscale luxury resort....and everything in between. If you have a better idea of where you are interested in going and the amount of money you want to spend we can probably point you in the right direction.

if you're looking for a luxury vacation that's still affordable, look into the Pueblo Bonito Oceanfront Resorts in Los Cabos. Since you're going in winter, the rates are all going to be lower than usual and it will be less crowded. But yeah, I assume you're just looking for highly rated places overall.
Here is the site for this hotel:
Pueblo Bonito Luxury Cabo Hotels (http://www.pueblotbonito.com/) & Spas: http://www.pueblobonito.com (http://www.pueblobonito.com/)
They also have a blog that's actually pretty interesting! Pueblo Bonito Luxury Travel Blog (http://www.mypueblobonito.com/)

I like Holiday Inn Express. they're relatively cheap, they have nice rooms, and complementary breakfast in the morning. Also they have high-speed wireless internet in all the rooms for free. I try and stay in HI Express everytime I travel.

Esperanza is a good luxury hotel. If you're looking for that perfect vacation, then Baja is the best place to go to. It's got sand, surf, and everything else in between. You can go whale watching at the Pacific Ocean, Diving or Snorkeling, Camping by the shore, and even golfing.

ah pao, first of all determine your budget. secondly, call up the respective hotels to find out about their package they would be the best ppl to advise you on the pricing. If their price range is within your budget, then you can proceed to make an appointment to view the place.

Hello
I Think Cabo Surf Hotel is located in one of the top surfing beaches in Cabos. Enjoy long rides, ideal for longboarders. The property is on the Highway just 8 minutes from downtown San Jose shopping and 20 minutes from all of Cabo San Lucas' nightlife, etc.
Thanks

Friends of mine are getting married in the Yucatan area at the end of December. Anther friend and myself are planning on driving down from US/Mexican border along the Gulf of Mexico. Anyone have any tips, comments, etc? He is fluent Spanish and we have driven through Guatemala and Hondorus so we're not too concerned about the drive and places to stay en route as we don't need anything fancy. Any places you recommend stopping to see on the way down?

Hello
The peninsula of Baja California is a piece of paradise situated at the western most region of Mexico. Baja is a unique and interesting place to see and visit. The peninsula is situated between two large bodies of water, the vast Pacific Ocean on the west and the abundant Gulf of California or Sea of Cortez to the east.
The multitude of environmental regions in Baja California combined with it pleasant Mediterranean climate opens up the doors towards many recreational activities for travelers, visitors, locals, tourists and vacationers.
Water sports aplenty are available in Baja California. There are several beaches, marinas, harbors and bays to be found all around the Baja peninsula, and swimming is an activity many people enjoy in Baja's fine, white sand beaches.
Snorkeling and scuba diving are also very popular among tourists. There are but a very few places in the whole planet where you can dive and swim along colonies of hammerhead sharks or gigantic yet gentle whale sharks and humpback whales.
