Can anyone post some information about the current weather/road conditions down there? Looks like we are in need of any updated here.

Are you asking about any particular strech of the freeway in particular? With all of the rains we had in January and February the roads took a beating. Let me know what specific area you are interested in finding out about.

Which are those websites? Could you be kind and provide a list like trip advisor or something, on categories?

Gee people, the host of this site (Geoff) has a link to Baja Nomad on this forum, near the bottom of the list of forums, here...
http://forums.BajaNomad.com is the busiest Baja discussion forums... dozens of new posts and replies every day.
There are others, and I have a list of links to some on my web site... here is the link to my list: http://vivabaja.com/davidsmessage.html

Baja has so much to offer... I would need to know what is he interested in seeing or doing... what vehicle he is driving (4WD?)... etc.
I did make a web page with links to photos I have taken of specific Baja places... Have a look!: http://community-2.webtv.net/vivabaja/tours

It wouldn't be my first choice, but if that's all you got then:
'Topes' (speed bumps) are common as the highway passes populated areas to slow you down... and they can be very high. While the highway is in good condition, there are sometimes pot holes to watch for. Almost all side roads, driveways, and points of interest are dirt or on dirt roads and not all are kept well graded.
The best vehicle for a Baja vacation would be an SUV or 4WD truck... You haven't said what you want to see or do or where you are going... Baja is 1,000 miles of fun (in the right vehicle)!

Guadalajara is the perfect place to experience authentic Mexican traditions, while enjoying a safe, comfortable Spanish immersion experience and even sightseeing. Guadalajara is bright, modern, well organized and unpolluted. Visitors can always find interesting things to do. Guadalajara's distinctive mix of modernity and tradition make it an ideal destination for living, studying or just visiting.
