Hurricane John hit East Cape last weekend causing devastation. As it moved northward, it flooded Mulege causing some deaths. Be certain to read the most recent road reports before traveling southward.

If you see water on the road, check to see that the road is still solid underneath before you drive into it. Only 4 wheel vehicles were able to get through going southward.

Also, if traveling down there, take supplies with you to give to those who lost their homes. Food, water, clothes, etc.... are all needed. Los Barriles, Buena Vista and La Ribera were the hardest hit.

Take bug repellent & mosquito netting with you.....

Obviously it is a person's duty to examine the road very carefully before coming out on wet roads. Without realizing the sensibility of the issue one can even put his or her life in danger.

It was in 2006... You need to look at the date of the original post!
