Friends of mine are getting married in the Yucatan area at the end of December. Anther friend and myself are planning on driving down from US/Mexican border along the Gulf of Mexico. Anyone have any tips, comments, etc? He is fluent Spanish and we have driven through Guatemala and Hondorus so we're not too concerned about the drive and places to stay en route as we don't need anything fancy. Any places you recommend stopping to see on the way down?

Consider getting in touch with a villa rental agency. They like to have massage therapists who travel between rental houses for guests who want massages. It's less hectic than hotel work..
